Club History

In August 2005, The Champions Club, UK hosted its first annual Awards Night to honour some of the most successful Nigerians in different facets of life in the United Kingdom.

The event took place at the prestigious London Marriott Hotel in London’s Regents Park.

Commemorating a decade of friendship

The achievements and successes of 2008 were celebrated with a party at the end of the year. (The event also commemorated ten years of friendship).

On August 15, 2009, the Champions hosted their annual barbecue.

This year, funds were raised for the Atunda Ola School for disabled children in Lagos, Nigeria, which was donated on December 12, 2009, during a Christmas party sponsored by the Club for the children.

On the 30th of November 2013 at a prestigious location, the Champions Club celebrated their 15th anniversary in grand fashion. A Summer BBQ Fete was held earlier in the year to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and this generated more than £2,000 that was donated to GOSH.

The Ataxia organisation in conjunction with the Champions Club organised a charity walk which had a 6-mile route from Kensington Gardens to the Westminster Town Hall to generate support for people suffering from Ataxia. There was a reception afterwards that was hosted by the Mayor of Westminster at the town hall premises. This event was close to the heart of the club as one of the members was suffering from that condition at that time.

The club organised a disco themed party at the Thames Banqueting Hall in Barking to celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2018. Some musical stars made an appearance at the event and there were about 400 guests who turned up to celebrate with the group.
